What happen to Siakol?

Today is the birthday of my Kuya. I really intend to google and play songs from Siakol because it is one of his favorite Filipino Rock Band. He was so happy seeing them on videos.

I found a lot of information about them not only on those videos I’ve seen from You Tube. Hmmn…I visited their official website, read stuff about them and played their songs. The site is no longer updated and I understand because they are no longer at the limelight now but I missed them so much. How I wish they will be back and still play new good music. Their music is really great!

I started to become a fan of them because of my Kuya. We don’t have any updates from them. How was their life and what happen to them? Anyone knows? Care to share?

Upside Down

Filed under: Music Videos, Pinoy Band

Somehow this is the song of my heart now. We just celebrated our 2nd year last June 4. When i open my yahoo messenger i received messages from him and i was suprised because its been few months since we are no longer chatting and i don’t know what’s up with him. Why he become cold? and now…he said that he misses me. I don’t know what is the state of our relationship? I’m not sure if i still have to hope of this weird kind of relationship that we have.

Check out the video below. Lyrics guide here.

Imago

This pinoy band is also one of my favorites. Their vocalist is just so good and she’s pretty no other than Aia de Leon. I like the songs Akap and Anino sooooooooooo much.

By the way, here’s a short information about this band:

Imago Filipino pop rock band composed of Aia De Leon (vocals/guitars), Myrene "Maps" Academia (bass), Tim Cacho (guitars) and Zach Lucero (drums) known for hit songs such as Akap, Anino, Ewan and Taralets.

Imago was formed in 1999. They wrote an album’s worth of original material which they recorded under the helm of producer and musician Bob Aves. Their first album Probably Not But Most Definitely was released in 2001 under Viva Records.

The band has picked up a handful of Awit, Katha and NU107 Rock Awards (Best Female Award for Aia De Leon and Best Music Video for "Akap") from the first cd.

Imago’s second album was released four years after. Recorded in 2003, the cd’s release was delayed by unexpected record label setbacks. Enthusiastic over their new songs however, the band was determined to release the album no matter what. Composed of eleven new cuts (plus four remixes by some of Manila’s premiere electronica acts), the material is relatively heavier compared to the first album. Released independently, Take 2 featured hit songs such as Akap and Anino.

In 2006, Imago recorded a revival of Ewan, which was originally sung by the  Apo Hiking Society.

Cueshe

I love this band and i really love their songs especially Back to Me.

If you are wondering what does Cueshe means, here’s a short description which i got from Wikipedia.

Cueshé is an OPM pop/rock band that originally hail from Cebu in the Philippines.

The word Cueshé is a portmanteau of "Cue", meaning banana cue; a snack delicacy in the Philippines, which are skewered bananas coated with caramel, and the pronoun "shé" (pronounced shay), was named after their former vocalist, which is a female. In their earlier days as a show band in Cebu, the band would practice at the bedroom of their drummer Mike Manaloto - their first rehearsal studio. After their practice, they would eat their favorite snack, the banana cue.

A motorcycle accident that happened last December 24, 2001 occurred on the female vocalist. And with that in hand, Gay Justiniani replaced the former vocalist right after her recovery.

Ruben Caballero later joined the group. At first, he, together with Jay, was only on vocals. But later on, he shifted into greater heights, as he became a rhythm guitarist/vocalist. The pianist/keyboardist Jhunjie Dosdos then came into the band to showcase his talent he honed during his younger days.

It was March 2005, when they decided to push through the "rock mecca of the Philippines", the city of Manila.

And with that everything came into place. Hit singles ("Stay," "Sorry." "Ulan," "Can’t Let You Go" and "24 Hours."), a double platinum album ("Half Empty, Half Full"), accolades (Favorite Artist, Favorite Group and Favorite Song—for the song "Stay" at the 1st MYX Music Awards; SMART Texters’ Choice Hitmaker of the Year at the 2006 MTV Pilipinas Awards; Band of the Year at 2006 SOP PasiklaBand Awards; Best Breakthrough Artist at 2005 SOP Music Awards), sold-out gigs and concerts—all achieved in a span of one year.
